Canada vs. finland for gold

they beat Sweden 4-1 and now it's them vs. the Fins.
Russia vs Sweden for the bronze.
Keri lehtonen is the goalie for Finland, and either ward or roloson in net for the canucks.
Be a good matchup, the fins rocked back during the Olympics. they are becoming an international hockey force.

Wow, they reached the gold medal game with a vast majority of their stars still tied up in the Stanley Cup...it's like saying Canada's B team is good enough to take on the world right now...of course, a lot of Russians and Swedes are also caught up in the Cup...so this is more like a B game of sort...or an A- national team perhaps?

Re: Canada vs. finland for gold

Canada wins 4-2.
This is a great team, even if it is the cast offs of the losing nhl teams. Ward, nash, Eric Staal, led by Stevie Y as gm. Crosby would have been there, if he was okay.
from nhl.com
Nash was named the tournament's most valuable player and earned a spot on its all-star team. No other Canadian player was recognized with an individual award, which was only fitting for this team-first group.
Jordan Staal - nash scored twice, Staal, colby armstrong also scored- was the youngest Canadian player ever to win a gold medal at this event.
Finland is 1-6 in gold medal games.
It was the first world championship gold won by Canada on Russian soil.

Russians beat sweden 3-1 to take the bronze.

What is it with all these Canadian guys named Nash winning MVP awards all over the place?
