GMs decide to change nothing

so the news is...there's no news. or as damien cox says in the Toronto Star,
The thinkers decided not to tinker.
The instigator rule was talked about, let's eliminate the 'soft hook', and the points system was bandied about, and then each were left alone.
Maybe it's not such a bad thing, maybe the game is good enough as it is - Lou lamoriello says it's just a matter of maintenance, of tweaking.
There is worry that hockey is not doing very well in big time hockey towns like Chicago, LA and Boston, and truth is, yeah, the game would be better if these teams would be doing better, on a popularity rating - and the Rangers not making the playoffs would be further disaster. Instead, Pittsburgh, nashville and Atlanta are rolling with it.

Team should have the option of shrinknig their rink size when they are not fielding talented teams...make the game more physical...

Re: GMs decide to change nothing

so how big would the rink in Columbus be?
What you hope would happen is what happened in Pittsburgh - they were able to slowly rebuild and the team is hot and fans are excited. Smart. but Chicago seems to be mired in bad forever and LA ditto.
I'd say Boston is going that way too but they skunked us two nights back.
