In the 2003 draft, the Islanders could have taken Parise. And it would have made sense, too. His dad, JP Parise was an original islander and had one of the most famous Islander goals in history, that put "us" on the map:
His overtime goal elminated the NY Rangers in 1975 in the playoffs.
