Don't get me wrong - the ones who are fans are great and passionate. When the teams are winning, both buildings sell out. But the majority of people in the whole metro area, do not care about hockey.

My best friend loves the Yankees,Knicks and Giants but doesn't care about hockey. My dad, who is a big sports fan and grew up a marginal Ranger fan, has the least interest in hockey. I don't know why. I love it.

While my friends and I growing up never played ice hockey, we played a TON of street hockey. A friend of mine lived on a dead end so we bought ply wood and had our own mini-rink. We played all the time. We bought nets, gloves, sticks, a hockey "ball," goalie equipment, used to have pretend fights,...occasional real ones. Ah the good old days of childhood.

I too had a deadend street rink...I use to make wooden hockey pucks in Shop calls in 7th grade...They hurt less when they hit you...

Re: Mark Cuban gives NHL some advice

Every kid in canada plays street hockey - it's cold out, there is tobogganing and street hockey, or go to the rink or the local frozen over pond. seems like second nature here.
Re the rink attendants - normally it's a couple of guys in green shirts and chinos. I know guys do just as idiotic things as women, but can you imagine this woman being told-
So you'll wear a shimmery blue mini skirt and a cut off top and you'll hold a broom? How's that?
Oh wow, cool, thanks. Um, by the way, what's haw-kee?

Where's the dignity?

Come on now, tell the full story...you forgot where they say, "and guys will fawn over you all night long..."...see without that part, it jsut doesn't make sense...

Well, skaters do develop a bit of a bubble butt...haven't seen to many Olympic skaters that didn't...of course, the assumption being that these girls actually skate...and are nto just using the shovel to prop themselves up...

Re: Mark Cuban gives NHL some advice

yeah give me a break. They didn't get the job because they know what a "salchow" is. and bets are, they're not quite sure about offside either.
Oh maybe i'm making a horrible assumption. they could very well be into the game.
Or the players.

Cool Re: Mark Cuban gives NHL some advice

When I'm at the game, I always check to see if the players are checking them out...I don't see anything too obvious. And that's sort of good. These kids are only about 16.
