I don't know the accuracy of this, but a posting on the Detroit News website talks about rumors of Ottawa's interest in Curtis Joseph now that Hasek is injured. It's an interesting thought, considering the animosity that developed between the two in Detroit. Since there aren't many good story lines regarding the NHL trade deadline, this one has appeal. Any thoughts about this possibility or any others?

Hadn't heard that one. Certainly would be interesting to see those two on the same team again, but I don't know if it will happen. Another rumored deal I've heard about is Robert Esche and Donald Brashear to Vancouver for Todd Bertuzzi. Florida was at one point said to have been shopping Olli Jokinen, but it looks like he's going to stay put now.

I did not hear the Bertuzzi one. I think that one'd really surprise me. I did hear Florida management wouldn't do the Jokinen trade because they want to keep Luongo happy, let him know they aren't letting their big guys go.

Question...I mean legit question this time...If an NHL team wants to trade with a European team, do they have to do it by the deadline or can they swap any time they want?..just want to know what the loop holes are...
