I am surprised at a hockey forum this big not having a section to talk about the National Women's Hockey League!

Well, that is because we have been waiting for you to kick it off for us...welcome to GTG...our motto is (well mine anyway) "if you build it, they will come."

Tell us what is going on with th NWHL...we'd like to know.

Re: Nwhl

After a three-year absence, Mississauga is once again home to a National Women's Hockey League (NWHL) team.

For starters

Welcome to Goteams Go. Nwhl. To be honest, I didn't even now there was a women's professional hockey league. It sounds interesting though. Tell us a little about it.

Re: Nwhl

MINNESOTA WHITECAPS 2006-07 schedule and major league expansion “All elite women’s hockey teams in North America will play within the NWHL this coming season,” announced Susan Fennell, Commissioner of the National Women’s Hockey League. “Discussions have been underway over the past several months, and clearly all players want one pinnacle Championship to strive for.” The new structure will bring the top two teams from each Division, West and East, together to compete for the Clarkson Cup at the National Championship. “The Western teams are thrilled to be part of the newly re-organized NWHL,” said Bill Espey, President of the Western Women’s Hockey League. With five of its players returning from the 2006 Olympics (Natalie Darwitz, Caroline Ouellette, Jenny Potter, Tricia Dunn-Luoma, Kristin King) the Whitecaps anticipate a great start to their season at the Schwan’s Super Rink. After a second place finish in the 2005-06 WWHL Championship, the Minnesota Whitecaps are expecting to hoist the Clarkson Cup, in the all new NWHL. With the Minnesota Whitecaps as the only U.S. team, their NWHL schedule includes teams from these Canadian cities: Regina, SK; Calgary, AB; Vancouver, BC; and Edmonton, AB.

Cool Re: Nwhl

Here's what I found on the league: National Women's Hockey League - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are all Canadian Teams except there's one in Minnesota. I'm surprised it hasn't expanded to Boston. Anything else you can tell us Playlikeagirlsports? How does it compare to the Mens game? Is there fighting? Different rules? etc....

What about the Canadian Cassie Campbell?...Does she play in the league?...What kind of attendance do games get?

Re: Nwhl

The NWHL's website contains each team's specific website.

Didn't Cassie Campbell retire from hockey completely, or was it just from International competition?

After browsing the forums this site looks like it will be fun to come and check out every day, but with all the college sports stuff, where's college hockey? Not complaining, we already have uscho.com, just wondering.

The NHL is ok, but even in Minnesota, it's not always easy to find the Wild games on tv living "outstate".

Welcome to GoTeamsGo dhmn. Are you a Minnesota Gopher's fan? I went to school very close to RPI who has a great hockey program.

I'm a Gopher fan of everything **BUT** hockey. Since there's D1 hockey here (D2 everything else) I don't have to like the rodents in hockey

UMD played RPI a few times during the 80's and 90's. Spelling Rensselear is the easiest part of going to a 'high tech' college like RPI I'm sure.
