| Keith Primeau retires It was a sad article in the paper, on his many concussions and his own admitted inability to realize how injured he really was. he can't skate worth beans now without getting dizzy. He's done.
So the state of hockey is in question - concussion after concussion, careers are ruined (pat lafontaine, Mike Richter, Scott stevens, to name only a few - although I'd argue Stevens deserved it). Doctors aren't taking care of the players, head office ignores the seriousness of these concussions, players come back ie Primeau the next game after being carried out on a stretcher during the last game.
On the same note, Sabre Connolly looks to be put on the long-term injured reserve, which means he would definitely be out the first 10 games of the season - they aren't committing to this yet, but seems likely. Such a great player, and he still isn't able to play six months later.
I love a rough game but watching Primeau go out like this - that's sad.
BTW, Forsberg is now captain. |
