'Together' documentary gets to heart of Hendrick

The successes of Hendrick Motorsports, which is marching toward a fourth consecutive Sprint Cup championship and has 185 victories, are well documented.

I didn't catch the premier airing of this show, but recorded it the following Wednesday. I was really surprised at what the show turned out to be.

To me, it was basically two things:
1) a recounting of the events of the plane wreck at Martinsville and memorial to those whose lives were lost.

2) a celebrating of 25 years in racing, honoring the CURRENT group of teams, especially JJ who is the current champion and strong contender for this years championship.

It could have been much much more. Where was Tim Richmond? Sure, he isn't around today to talk with about the way it was.....
Terry Labonte was barely visible as was Geoff Bodine.
No talk about Rick's health issues or legal issues and how his brother stepped in.

The one comment that did surprise me was regarding Jeff's divorce. Rick said he gave Jeff 3 pieces of advise: Dont hit her, dont leave home and dont get caught with your pants down. THEN he said, guess he didn't listen to the last two. That statement was about the most frank and honest statement made during the whole hour long commercial.
