| Packers President Begs Brett Favre Not to Report ![]() Green Bay Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy is in Mississippi this morning in a last-ditch effort to convince Brett Favre not to report to training camp. "They're asking him not to come up there," a source told the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "They don't want him up there." FlightAware.com lists a private jet as having left the Green Bay airport at 9:33 last night and arrived at the Hattiesburg, Mississippi airport at 11:34. Favre faxed a letter to the league office yesterday, seeking reinstatement. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will grant his reinstatement today or tomorrow, and then the Packers have to either cut Favre, trade Favre or allow Favre on their active roster -- unless they can convince him to say home, which they're desperately trying to do. | Re: Packers President Begs Brett Favre Not to Report What else can Ted Thompson do really, he can't let him come to camp, he can't have him on sideline holding a clipboard looking over Aaron Rodgers shoulders, they can't just release, and they can't get a first round pick for him like they want. Ted Thompson drove himself into a corner here.

| Re: Packers President Begs Brett Favre Not to Report Why doesn't greenbay let him come into camp and try out for the job. If he has a better camp then rodgers then he can start. If he doesn't then he can hold the clip board....What's the big deal here? I mean other then the 12 million they will have too pay him. Also why does Brett want too go to Minn. so bad? There are other teams looking for his service. What's so special about Minn.? |

| Re: Packers President Begs Brett Favre Not to Report Because they have already committed to Rodgers time and time again. To simply have that liar Favre come into camp and hold the job up in the air wouldn't be far to Rodgers. They drafted him, they planned out Farvey's retirement scenario even though it was a bogus retirement and the Packers have to stay the course or they can look forward to this same thing happening next year when the Drama Queen Brett "retires." You let Favre come to camp he'll be like one of those roaches who checks in and doesn't check out. I thought Goodell wanted an end to this nonsense. The more sports radio I hear the more people just want Brett Favre and his antics to just go away. It's played out really. This is far worse than the Roger Clemens hearings a few months back. |

2. The only things I think are special about Minnesota are that, for one thing, one of his former coaches is on the staff, and for another, they have an awesome running game and are definitely legit playoff contenders, unlike, say, the New York Jets.

| Re: Packers President Begs Brett Favre Not to Report They'll release him, trade him, put a bounty on his head, etc. before they let him come to training camp that's for sure. If he reports to camp and stands there looking over Aaron Rodgers' shoulder with a smirk on his face the Packer 2008 campaign will be Helter Skelter. |
