Favre, Packers nearing agreement

Yahoo Sports' Jason Cole reports that the Packers are near an agreement with Brett Favre.
Green Bay would draw up a list of teams that are willing to trade for Favre, then he would choose his preference. "But it may take awhile," said a source. "The Packers are hoping that some team has a big injury and then is forced to make a deal." The source also says concerns about Favre's ability to pick up an offense are overblown: "Brett is a sandlot guy. What you’re going to do with him is find his 10 favorite plays and run those. Forget him learning your whole playbook. That’s not going to work."

That's where NFL.com said would make the most sense for him to be traded.

I bet he ends up in Tampa too, Favre loves the west coast offense and Gruden loves to stock-pile older QBs, the Jets are also a possibility.

Re: Favre, Packers nearing agreement

The Packers should run a Favre add on e-Bay and accept the NFL team with the highest bid.

Thanks to the Commish, the Packers don't have a ton of leverage right now. They better hope more team start getting involved.

Favre isnt going to go to Tampa to get stock piled. He wants to start. As for Garcia, his deal doesnt have to be done until 2009. He will play this year but if it doesnt get done by next year he will leave.
Yeah, the Packers will stretch this out until maybe someone gets hurt and a team gets really desperate for a qb. At least they will try.
The source that said Favre is a sandlot player sounds like someone is trying to knock his value down. I never heard that before.

Who's to say that maybe Garcia won't come over the Green Bay in the deal?
