While the next step in Brett Favre's plan to return to the field remains unclear, the latest twist in the saga surrounding the future Hall of Fame quarterback is that the Green Bay Packers are serious about keeping him away from NFC North rivals.

The Packers have filed tampering charges with the NFL against the Minnesota Vikings for what they deem to be "illegal contact" with Favre, reports NFL Network's Adam Schefter.

Just think, if the New York Jets were distracted by a player like Pete Kendall creating a situation in camp how distracted will the Pack by the Hall Of Fame shoo in Brett Favre making problems for the Packers? The Pack finishes in last place no doubt. The Vikings are the NFC North champions and if Queen Farvey ends up playing for them...the possibilities are limitless for the Vikes and the rivalry between the Pack and Vikes heats up by a thousand degrees. Ironic that Brett Favre is going to be responsible for ruining the Packers 2008 season and maybe beyond.

Well, the accusation is that there's a behind-the-scenes deal worked out for him to sign with the Vikings, which is why Favre suddenly asked the Packers to cut him. Brad Childress is denying it and saying all the right things about Jackson, but come on... if you could replace Travaris Jackson with Brett Favre, wouldn't YOU do it?
