Thompson: Aaron Rodgers Is Our Starter

In an interview today with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Packers General Manager Ted Thompson indicated that if Brett Favre is on the Packers this season, his job will be holding a clipboard on the sideline while Aaron Rodgers leads the team.
Aaron Rodgers is our starting quarterback,” Thompson said.
When asked if Favre could play for the Packers this year, Thompson said, “Sure.” But when he was asked if Favre could be the starter, Thompson said, “I don’t know how to answer that. We have moved forward. So we’ll see where it goes.”

ESPN said that if Favre did come back to Green Bay, it'd be as Rodgers backup. Harsh.

Re: Thompson: Aaron Rodgers Is Our Starter

I'm proud of you Mr. Thompson not to participate in Drama Queen Brett's yearly retirement question (which sunk to a new low in 2008 with his fake retirement and crocodile tears) and move on with Rodgers and maybe Brohm. Great to offer Favre a backup position to show the Drama Queen that his time in Green Bay ended when he "retired." I wonder if this fake retirement and the sight of him in a Panther uniform will sour Green Bay to Brett Favre after he pledged to be "Mr. Packer" a million times. Obviously Mr. Thompson is tired of this as are a lot of football fans I talk to. I wouldn't wish injury on any player as I sit here with a fractured foot but I have to say if Favre was to suffer a Thiesmann type injury at least we could get rid of Favre once and for all. Now i'm NOT saying I WANT Favre to get hurt just because he's so annoying and I don't hate him personally, i'm just pointing out a bright side if Favre suffers a career ending injury.
