Rodgers tells fans to get on board or shut up

In a story in SI, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had some strong words for Green Bay fans.
The story focuses around what its like to replace a legend. Its called the "We followed Club." SI' Chris Ballard writes how Rodgers mimics the measured player responses of athletes such as Michael Jordan and Joe Montana to the press.
Then Rodgers strayed from the bland and said: "I dont feel I need to sell myself to fans. They need to get on board now, or keep their mouths shut."

Whoa! Strong words there young fella. I cant wait to hear the response from the Packer fans.

Ha ha... this kid is a trip. He's following a legend, has proved NOTHING in the NFL yet and is already trashing the most loyal fans in football.
Good luck, kid. You are SO gonna need it!

Re: Rodgers tells fans to get on board or shut up

I like it personally. He's showing some fire and telling the fans that Favre is gone and it's time to move on so get on board now or stay in the past. I've been hoping Aaron Rodgers would do something like this and now he did it. Now he's got to back it up on the field of course but he'll never do anything if he doesn't believe in himself and take it upon himself to jump out of Brett Favre's shadow which it seems he did. Attitude is necessary in today's NFL if you're gonna be successful.

I dunno. I would've much rather him work hard and shut people up with his play than do it this way. It's only going to make the fans HARDER to win over.

Re: Rodgers tells fans to get on board or shut up

Well it's like gambling so to speak with this replacing a legend stuff. By replacing Favre you can play it safe, be quiet and just play hoping to win fans over that way or you can put all your chips on the table like Rodgers did and say for the most part i'm the man now, love it or leave it. Now of course with gambling there is a very good chance you can lose which would be Rodgers stinking up the field but despite Packer fans being maybe the best in the NFL I think there is too much Favre worship in Green Bay. As I said before I think it's a good move but ultimately it's his play which will solidify that. We'll see.
