Packers pursuing Culpepper

According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Green Bay is exploring the possibility of signing Daunte Culpepper. Sources told the newspaper that Culpepper, 31, arrived in Green Bay on Tuesday night and visited with the team on Wednesday.

ESPN - Report: Packers pursuing Culpepper as possible backup - NFL

Would this be good or bad?

Re: Packers pursuing Culpepper

A veteran backup is need I guess. But Culpepper is done. That horrible knee injury seems to have ruined his mechanics. He couldn't even win the starting job in pitiful Oakland.

Yep, I agree completely. If you want a veteran QB, look elsewhere. Culpepper ain't your guy.

I like it...though "Purse" might be a bit much

I honestly think it could not hurt, sign to the league minimum, and he is still a decent back-up.

Right, because back up isnt the same as starting and he might fill the need at that position.

Re: Packers pursuing Culpepper

Appears the Pack have very little interest considering their draft and comments made by management.

I read that too this morning. It would appear that they have changed their mind and their new draft pick up will also be Aaron Rodgers back up. I cant remember his name. But Rogers would appear to have a tendency to get hurt. This could come back to bite them.

Brian Brohm is the name and I think he could be a good player in a few years, but they would certainly be better off with a veteran backup for this year.
