Packers to retire Favre's Number

Mark Murphy told the Associated Press that he had a preliminary discussion with Favre, and that both Favre and the organization agreed that his number 4 would be retired during the 2008 season at Lambeau Field. No other details were immediately available.

Well, I am kind of surprised they waited this long to announce it.

Nah, in all seriousness, it was probably all about coordinating dates, finding out when they could get things all set up, etc.

I never would have imagined this would happen !!! What a shocker. It is certainly a nice pat on the back for a job well done.
