Nope, just jocks. They're the only ones given carte blanche to cry.

Brett's tears were born from genuine emotion. So was TO's. I dont remember that TO has done this before.
As for Vermeil, back off guys. If I remember right, he had a stroke. That is a common thing for stroke victims.
I wasn't making fun of Vermeil. I was just pointing out that I have seen him cry several times during interviews over the years. The main one I remember is when he was talking about how much he loved Trent Green. He was disappointed he was traded from St Louis, but they were reunited in KC.

Since Brett's tears showed he was only human as the poll stated, then that means what I have always suspected about some of the members of the staff is true.

I didnt mean you azrael. I know you better than that. I just didnt want anyone to take off with the idea.
His team always seemed to respect him anyway didnt they?

It is hard for an athlete, any athlete at any level, to admit that it's over. Very emotional time. But he needs to stay retired. Coming back would tarnish everything, not the crying.

Somehow, I don't think that's going to be a problem. If he still wanted to play, he'd still be playing.

Re: Did Brett's tears tarnish his reputation?

I can understand someone getting a little emotional or choked up.... heck even a tear or two. It's hard leaving or giving up something you love. BUT COME ON!!! That was way too dramatic. Ive never seen anyone cry that much at a funeral. I think that cry is one of the biggest I've ever seen!!

Wow, yeah, in the senior division he would do well.
