Re: Is Brett Favre An All-Time Great

i vote no

one Super Bowl win is not enough to off set holding the all-time interception record ..... all of his stats are mostly just a longevity thing imo not a great QB thing

Montana
Brady
P. Manning
Elway
Bradshaw
Staubach

i think its easy to name 5 QB's better then Favre

He also hold the record for being the only player with 3 consecutive MVP's
There isnt any other qb who was better in tight situations. I have seen plays that he has made that made me blink..He's one of the toughest, you dont have 275 consecutive starts in this league unless you are tough. He had too many interceptions, but that was because he wasnt afraid to try and fail. This even though he gave coaches fits along the sidelines.
You can remove Manning and Brady from that list. I dont know how you guys can put players up there who are still playing all-time greats.
You forgot Johnny Unitas who defined the quarterback position.

Re: Is Brett Favre An All-Time Great

Wh othe heck is voting no on this?

Come on people...we have called players great that fall way short of what Favre has done...275 straight starts?...that should really say it all.

He has a lot of records that dont necessarily have anything to do with longevity.
Say toughness and clutch playing and people think Favre.

All-Time Great? Yes. Doesn't have to be Top 5 to be an All-Time Great.

Cool Re: Is Brett Favre An All-Time Great

Top 5? No. Top 10? Yes

Fellas and gals - Where is MARINO on this list? He's THE BEST I've ever seen.

Thats the problem with these lists. You have to broaden it a bit. Marino definitely belongs on it. He first set all those records Favre broke.

I thought about you pundit when I heard this. Bet you are really sorry there will be no more "will he or wont he?" posts.

Re: Is Brett Favre An All-Time Great

Of Course he is.
Top five isn't even a question. The guy with the most touchdowns is top 3 no matter what imo.

Re: Is Brett Favre An All-Time Great

I love Bret Favre but top 5? No. Top 10? Without a doubt. Probably number 6 or 7. From the merger era a tentative listing: 1. Montana, 2. Marino, 3. Staubach, 4. Elway, 5. Brady, 6. Manning 7. Favre
