boy, unless one says Brady is the best, its crazy talk with you.

I should have made it clearer. He can take the place of Favre as far as great active quarterbacks in the future. He also has a similar style of play as Favre. Last year was his first full year as a starter. Better?

That is if I understand what you are saying.

i think there is just as much chance he wont be a top 5 active QB in the near future

like many have said .... after P Manning and Brady it is fairly wide open right now

Palmer
Eli
Romo
T Jackson
Garrard
Big Ben
Rivers
Russell
Derek Anderson

there are 9 QBs right there that i think will all be vying for the 3 remaining slots on the list of the top 5 active QBs in the NFL in 2 years

with just 2 playoff losses to his credit right now i just think Romo has a large uphill battle ahead of him

and im not trying to be mean or anything .... i pretty much despise P Manning .. but i admit he is a top 2 active QB in the league right now .... with over-taking the all-time stats and/or another ring and he will be for sure in discussion of top 5 all-time

Ben has a ring .... Romo so far has only lost in the playoffs .... of course all of that may mean nothing in 2 years

Ben has a ring, but he has a Trent Dilfer ring. The team carried him to that win. He had something like a 40 passer rating in that game. Mentally I don't think you can count that -- not until he actually LEADS the team to a Super Bowl title. So it's still a wash.

Nothing wrong with his vote as far as I can see. The man knows of what he speaks.

simon, two years playing in the league, only one as a starter and he led his team to the playoffs twice. Last season he broke the team record, making the season 14-2. Come on give him credit for that.

Re: Is Brett Favre An All-Time Great

Tom Brady: Rookie year was 1-3 and had 6 yards
2001- made the Super Bowl and won
2002- missed the playoffs

Peyton Manning- Rookie year threw for 3739 yds, 26 TDs and set lots of rookie records but finished 3-13
1999-finished 13-3 and earned a 1st round bye but lost in his first game in playoffs
2000- lost in wild card game

Favre was not better than Marino. Not even an issue IMO. Also, I guess Staubach didn't have a good team around him. Their defense stunk. Too Tall Jones, Randy White, Harvey Martin, Charley Waters...Should I go on? And hey Drew Pearson was a bum.....

you are forgetting the number of times Staubach led the team in come from behind victories....it wasn't the D doing it...look at his turnovers compare to Bradshaw...show me when he was ever benched like Bradshaw...not even close on those two... regardless what Dallas had on D...and that 1975 team that sneaked into the Super Bowl and made it a game against Pittsburgh...that team had Robert Newhouse as the main back...Newhouse!...not exactly an elite runner...also look at Staubach's passing titles...he owned the 70's...He was a starter from 71-79 ('72 he was injured in game one) and I think he took 5 NFC passing titles those years....where was Bradshaw?...well, the first part of the decaded he was getting yanked around for the likes of Joe Gilliam....

As for Marino vs Favre...Marino's quick release is all he had on Favre...look at the numbers...they are evens up in almost every area...and Favre did actually win at least one Super Bowl...so, my man, stop living in the 80's...great decade and all...but these two are a toss up...Now, if you want to say that based on potential, career unseen, and Marino with no bad knee...you would draft Marino over Favre...I will give you that...but to say one was better than the other?...no way.

Again with the numbers. Screw the numbers. Did you watch Marino play? Did you watch Favre play? Based on WHAT YOU SAW, who was better?

Based on what I saw...and I saw a lot of 90's game when the man was a three time MVP...as much as I saw the 80's games when Marino was killing the Jets with 400 yard passing days...it was pretty evens up...give me either warrior on game day, and I have a fighting chance against any team in the league...

Not sure what you were watching in the 90's...for all I know you stop watching games after Marino's fab seasons in the mid 80's...
