This should put Packers fan Matthew Kowald over the top in the
A-hole of the Year voting:
Upset that his 7-year-old son wouldn't wear a Green Bay Packers jersey during the team's playoff victory Saturday, a man restrained the boy for an hour with tape and taped the jersey onto him.
The 36-year-old Kowald was arrested Monday after his wife told authorities about the incident. Kowald was taken to the county jail and held until Wednesday, when he pleaded no contest, paid a fine of $186 and was released.
Classy. Let's see, Kowald's son doesn't want his old man living his failed football dreams vicariously through him, passes on playing dress up, and the next thing he knows, he's tied up and Brett Favre's No. 4 is the bow.
This isn't an indictment against Packers fans, it's an indictment against jackasses who are free to roam the streets and breed. But in the spirit of fair trials, innocent until proven guilty and all that, Kowald wants you to know that, yes, he did tie up his son,
but it was in a playful manner. For an hour.
