Playoffs:Green Bay vs. Giants

After pulling off a 42-20 victory over the Seahawks Saturday in a snowy game that will become a Snow Game Classic, the Packers host the Giants Sunday for the Conference Championship.
In the Seahawk game, RB Ryan Grant set a new team rushing record for the playoffs with 201 yards. Brett Favre showed his old magic when he did one of his Houdini escape routines and made a desperate underhanded pass to tight end Donald Lee for 11 yards and a first down.
Giants were successful at pressuring Tony Romo for the first time in their history. Jacobs was 15 attemps for 54, which was less than half of Barber.
Will they be as successful at pressuring Favre? And can they stop Grant?

I'll go with the Giants, because I hate the Packers.

Re: Playoffs:Green Bay vs. Giants

I saw the Packers/Sea hawks, and the Cowboys/Giants game. Neither the Giants, or Cowboys looked like a team that belonged in the playoffs. Stranger things have happened, but I think the Packers will win this one easy. Maybe they will rest their starters.

I don't know why, but I'm convinced the Giants have the edge in this one. 9 straight road wins and they've beaten some mighty good teams as of late.

Re: Playoffs:Green Bay vs. Giants

I think Favre has this team believing they can and should win. I think the Giants season ends this week. They have been my pick since Grant emerged from nowhere. I am not quitting on them now.

Veteran quarterback and Eli Manning? Come on Lefty. Pressure Eli and he folds.
Packers win.

Okay there are a few key difference from the week two game. Week Eli was playing hurt, the Giants hadn't fulling learned how to work their blitz scheme defense, and it won't cold and windy where Farve can't throw the ball at will. I like the Giants 21-13

Cool Re: Playoffs:Green Bay vs. Giants

I like the Packers to win this game. It's hard to see Favre coming this far and not winning the game....But then again, the Giants have won, what? 10 in a row on the road?

Okay, Packers 24-4.

Re: Playoffs:Green Bay vs. Giants

The cold of course will be a factor, but it could hurt the Packers just as much as it could the Giants.

Re: Playoffs:Green Bay vs. Giants

While the Giants couldn't handle Marion Barber in the first half last week, they put the wraps on him in the second half (11 carries for 28yds). The same thing with the pass rush. They really turned it up a notch in the second half. They need to come out that way this Sunday.

Amen, always love those half time adjustments. If anything, hopefully the first half is kept close.
