ESPN is reporting that the NFL is investigating allegations that the Green Bay Packers might be paying players bonuses for special incentives (holding someone under 100 yards, etc.). Sounds fine, except there's a possibility that they may also be offering bounties for causing injuries to opposing players. Think there's any truth to these allegations?

I can't see how players would be collecting bounties to injure fellow players. It's not like this is 1945 or anything.

According to local paper, players offered teammates money for achieving specific defensive goals. Nothing was mentioned of injuring anyone.

But one of the goals was holding Adrian Peterson under 100 yards, and he winds up getting hit on the knee and injured. Stuff like that gets people talking.

Did they aim for Peterson's name? I didn't see it but I don't think anyone wants to hurt another player. They understand it's a business where people are just trying to provide for their family.

The Peterson hit looked clean to me. I think this is all part of the game.

Ouch! I didnt take it that way even though I read it. If it was a deliberate hit at his knee, then that kind of changes it. I really dont think so though. Packers arent that kind of team. Packers are investigating.

No way they were hunting for Peterson...and Peterson runs with a herky-jerky motion...even if you aim for the knees you'll hit something else.
