Packers vs. Chiefs

The Packers go to Arrowhead this week to play the Kansas City Chiefs. Packers are now 6-1 and the Chiefs 4-3. Packers had a lot of penalties against the Broncos Monday night, but Favre proved he still has the arm strength.
Chiefs are a team that's hard to figure out sometimes. But they play tough at home. They have a DE that's fast becoming one of the elite in the NFL, Jared Allen, tied at 8 sacks for the league's lead. He might make the "old man" nervous.
Packers are favored, but still, ----
What do you think?

Re: Packers vs. Chiefs

The Packers play pretty poorly there. They always have. Even when they were SB contenders.

BUT....the way this year is going, they'll probably pull out a win. This is a magical season and you never know what will happen!

I think they'll squeak out another win. They need to get some turnovers and take some of the burden off of the offense.

Yes, they always have played poorly there.

My sister has a thing with the Chiefs. She says they never do what she expects them to do. So before I pick the winner of this game, I have to ask who she is picking and then I will pick the opposite. It usually works!

Re: Packers vs. Chiefs

Packers pull out another one on the strength of Brett's arm. They still have a lot to clean up, but they sure are finding ways to win. One thing that seemed obvious to me, but not to Charles Woodson; GET DOWN WITH THE BALL! I know he scored, but with the game in hand with KC having no time outs, and that little time left on the clock, why even TRY to score, when it isn't necessary? Why risk the fumble, punch-out, and risk giving KC the ball back? A couple kneel downs on offense would have sealed it..... If this team wasn't so borderline, I say go for it, but they have to many weaknesses to risk something like this when the game was sealed with a interception, and offensive kneel-downs.

Hey, Vgolf, welcome to the forum.
I agree, it wasnt so smart. He is veteran enough to know better. Must have gotten carried away. I just cant figure this team out. Borderline, maybe but they keep pulling the wins off. And now it looks like they have a running game going, finally. They just shouldnt be 7-1 and tied with my Cowboys. (Ignore the avatar. I lost a stupid bet) This game between the Cowboys and Packers is shaping up to be a good one. Being a Cowboy fan in Wisconsin has been a nasty business of recent years and I was hoping for some revenge.

If you are from Wisconsin then you have read Vandermause's column. For those who havent, the guys in the Packer locker room say this year is about attitude. When they need a play, someone steps up and makes one. When Woodson made the interception, it would have been easy to play it safe and call for a fair catch. Woodson would have none of that and said "If I got a shot, I'm going to take it. Just trying to make a play."
I understand where he is coming from, but like you, I dont think it was real smart. I still dont know why this team has the record it does. An aging quarterback who just couldnt figure out he wasnt 23 anymore, a bunch of young receivers who didnt know their routes, and a nonexistent running game. Part of it is Brett's arm, and he is playing smarter. His will could be carrying them too. Maybe McCarthy is a better coach than I give him credit for. Whatever it is, its working.
