GB Packers draft A.J. Hawk

Green Bay selects Ohio State LB A.J. Hawk with pick #5. Good choice?

AJ Hawk, a Packer Officially

A great pick. Hawk is such a good player, he'll be producing nearly immediately in the NFL. The Packers defense is that much improved today because of him. A smart player with the intensity to match Favre's.

Great pick.

Great pick.
Ditto on the intensity part...the kids motor is always reved up...he can over purse a play...and is a tad too intense...fast though...4.55 speed on the 40. Here is the over all on him.

Overview:
A three-year letter winner with the Buckeyes, Hawk is the best LB in the draft, and will more than likely be a top-5 pick. His speed, ability to read what's going on, and coverage skills will be great assets to him. His toughness will also help him, as most of the people he will go up against will be bigger than him. He will be able to step in and make an impact almost instantly on most teams. However, if he doesn't learn to slow down just a little, he will overrun too many plays.

Re: AJ Hawk, a Packer Officially

A lot of people say Hawk is the most complete and NFL ready defensive player in the draft, and that he would've been a better pick than Mario Williams. I dunno... I've always through Hawk was overrated, myself. The product of being surrounded by other defensive talent. We'll see how he does without Carpenter, Whitner, etc.

Cool Re: GB Packers draft A.J. Hawk

The great thing about drafts are nobody really knows. If anybody knew, I guess Michael Jordan would have been drafted ahead of Sam Bowie.

Lack of knowledge and foresight have not ruined Matt Millen yet... ...Draft hope springs eternal...but I agree with Lefty...Hawk got himself some help...anyone remember a can't miss kid named Andy Katzenmoyer...or the imfamous Brian Bosworth?...
