Favre is a top 7 or 8 QB of all time. Starr is not.

I'll bet more people will remember Favre for his accomplishments than Starr. I bet more defenses worried about Favre over the years than they did about Starr.

To be fair, I never saw Starr play in person. But Favre is definitely a top 10 QB of all-time and I never hear Starr mentioned in those terms.

He is not mentioned in those terms perhaps because the writers now have the same vantage point we have...I did not see him play either...but why elevate say Tom Brady or Bradshaw to sainthood for the accomplishments of a "team"...and not Starr?

exactly, brady is the clearest example of this. he is so overrated because of the accomplishments of the successful patriots teams that we have seen the last few years. vinatieri and tuck rules anyone?

however, favre, p. manning, marino, to name a few, are players that leave their mark on a game because of individual talent and style of play.

to get back on topic, and for the reason previously mention, i would say favre is better.
