A bit late in his career to be doing this...and he has Rogers he can help develop...I know the guy is competitive and I like him...but dude, your career is at an end...stay, plass and retire with grace.

Says the Packers have no intentions of trading Favre.

It says according to sources, Favre wanted to be traded because he was mad the team didn't trade for Moss, and he spoke to Packer officials in the days following the draft.

Packers say they wont trade him but an unhappy Brett cant be a good thing. And he is getting unhappier all the time.
They made a huge mistake in not going after Moss as long as they appeared to be not really serious about rebuilding. (You dont rebuild with 35 year old quarterback) Moss isnt long term for anything except trouble.
Actually, being a beleaguered Cowboy fan in Wisconsin, I find it a bit hilarious. Packer fans must be in a collective heart attack.

I don't blame him for demanding a trade, not after learning WHY they couldn't get Moss. According to what Favre told the Biloxi Sun-Herald, Moss "was going to wipe his contract clean and sign for $3 million guaranteed, plus a fourth-round draft pick. That would have been a steal... But [the Packers] we were not willing to guarantee part of that $3 million. I even had [Favre's agent Bus Cook] call up there and tell them I would give up part of my salary to guarantee that part of the money. Apparently that wasn't enough either." The guy was willing to give up some of his own salary to get Moss, and the team wouldn't go it? What the heck?

Actually, I think trading Favre would be the best thing for the Packers. They really need to re-build. With him, they never really get into any rebuilding mode.

Simon, maybe Favre isnt necessarily thinking Super Bowl. Maybe at this stage he is just thinking "I would really like to go out with a better looking record." To me, it kind of looks like they keep pulling him in and then they knock the ground out from under of his feet by not getting or keeping quality talent around him. He wants to stay in Green Bay and they count on that to get him to do what they want.
He will retire, after this year.

lol, it seems this is like the Knicks/Ewing situation. By trading him, they corrupted the franchise for years (due to money). Perhaps by keeping Favre, the Packers are ensuring they won't be a great team now.
