| Favre Traded? Until quarterback Brett Favre speaks on the matter in full, the depth of his resentment toward the Green Bay Packers' front office for not working out a trade for Oakland receiver Randy Moss won't be known. However, a FoxSports.com report Sunday claimed that Favre was so incensed over the failure to obtain Moss that he had his agent, James "Bus" Cook, call the Packers several days after the April 28-29 draft and ask for a trade. The request was denied, the report said, and after a week of ducking coach Mike McCarthy's calls, Favre finally answered the phone and talked things out with his coach. Packers officials were not available for comment Sunday, but general manager Ted Thompson, who had the final say in determining how much the club would offer the Raiders and Moss in order for the deal to go through, refused to acknowledge that Favre had sought a trade. He did, however, address the quarterback's frustration. "I think it's natural for a player to be frustrated from time to time - that's simply being human," Thompson said in a statement posted on the team's Web site. "Everyone knows that Brett Favre is all about winning. As an organization, we share that commitment. And we want to win now." If Favre really wants to be traded, he could pressure the Packers into doing it, given his stature in the game. The Packers don't think they're in a rebuilding mode and want Favre to lead their team next season, but if he is truly unhappy, they could find takers for his services. From a salary-cap standpoint, they'd be able to wipe Favre's $11 million base salary off the books while absorbing only a small hit from the prorated portion of his original contract. They might be able to find a team that thinks it's on the brink of a championship and needs only a veteran quarterback (Washington, Denver and Jacksonville come to mind) and squeeze out a high pick. Thompson probably wouldn't object to trading Favre if the quarterback were dead-set on playing somewhere else. Favre could threaten retirement unless the Packers trade him to a contender. They already have what they think is their quarterback of the future in Aaron Rodgers, although he is coming off a broken foot and hasn't proved anything yet. JS Online: Favre furor |

Maybe its not that Brett doesnt want to leave. Maybe its that so called management is banking on that idol worship. Maybe they want to pull in the bucks with out putting out any more than they have to? The media loves him as much as the fans. Bet he could become GM if he wanted to. |

I don't see management going up to the mike after yet another desperate Favre pass gets picked off and second guess their QB to the rest of the world...this thing called respect should kinda go both ways... ...and perhaps a bit too emotional to be a good GM in my book...love the guy on the field...but don't think he would make a good office guy. |

| Re: Farve demands trade In a statement issued by the Green Bay Packers, quarterback Brett Favre says that he does not want to leave the team. "I was frustrated a couple weeks back when Randy Moss was traded to New England," Favre says. "I never wanted to be traded and I don't want to be traded. I want to be in Green Bay. I want to finish my career as a Packer. Sometimes when I get frustrated I let my emotions get the better of me." You see it was all his emotions at work.. |

| Re: Favre Traded? [quote=Gotham Dark Knight;125135]So you are saying Moss is a sure thing?...I like the guy and all, but would Green Bay really become a winner over night with Moss and his attitude in the line-up?...Nothing is a sure thing. I didnt say a winnner, I said a few wins. Moss's attitude might be a little different this time around. Remember, he just came off the Raiders rosterl I don't see management going up to the mike after yet another desperate Favre pass gets picked off and second guess their QB to the rest of the world...this thing called respect should kinda go both ways...If he had a little talent around him, maybe he wouldnt be so desperate. ...and perhaps a bit too emotional to be a good GM in my book...love the guy on the field...but don't think he would make a good office guy..... The GM thing was sarcasm. This is a guy who likes riding his lawn mower I just heard now Keyshawns name is being mentioned. This is really getting to be BORING! Thats all that was on tv today..... Brett Favre's face. |

| OK, extremely red face here. If you heard the Raiders ripping on Moss you start to think that maybe Packer's management knew what they were doing. Moss's poor work ethic wasnt a surprise, but it would seem that it is getting worse. Moss always goes around with a scowl on his face. He looks angry. Unlike some other troublesome receiver (who shall be nameless here) who at least smiles and seems to has a sense of humor. |
