Warriors acquire Marcus Williams

The retooling of the Golden State Warriors continue, as they've acquired PG Marcus Williams from New Jersey. Williams joins Ronny Turiaf and Corey Maggette as the third big acquisition for the Warriors this year. He is expected to play backup point guard to Monta Ellis. Good acquisition?

Re: Warriors acquire Marcus Williams

If he can post numbers like he did at UConn, I have no doubt that he will be good for the Warriors. Have they confirmed Ellis as starting PG? I didn't know if Nelson was confident enough to put him at the point position.

Not sure if that's confirmation by the team or speculation by the AP... I'd guess the latter.

Re: Warriors acquire Marcus Williams

Williams will definitely get run now that Ellis is out, and why not.. he should thrive in an uptempo run and gun fashioned offense.
