| Golden State Warriors advance The Golden State Warriors have completed one of the biggest upsets in NBA Playoff history. According to the Associated Press, "Baron Davis knew his tender hamstring would limit him, so Stephen Jackson took a huge load off Golden State's do-everything star... Davis and Jackson shot the ragtag Warriors right into the second round, capping perhaps the NBA's biggest playoff upset with yet one more memorable performance on their home floor... Davis willed his team on one good leg, shaking off a strained hamstring to score 20 points, Jackson made a franchise playoff-record seven 3-pointers, and Golden State became the first No. 8 seed to capture a best-of-seven playoff series with a 111-86 victory over the NBA-best Dallas Mavericks in Game 6 on Thursday night."

Re: Golden State Warriors advance You know, I am not so sure it was a Mavs collapse as much as a bad match up for them...I watched the game last night, and besides Dallas not being able to hit any shots, they had trouble matching up with GS...they had trouble all year long with them...I think GS deserves a lot of credit for the win.

Re: Golden State Warriors advance No. It's the playoffs. If you're a #1 seed, you need to put all that out of your mind, go out there and take care of business. The Mavericks failed at that task, and I don't mean to take anything away from the Warriors and the wonderful series they played, but there was no "second gear" for the Mavs. They never took their game to that next level, and whether that's on Dirk and the rest of the players or more on the coaches, they came out and played flat. Where were they in the second half, yesterday? Was there even another team on the court with Golden State, cause I sure didn't see one?

I agree with Lefty here: At 67-15, you have to win the series. They weren't even competitive. You want to tell me that the road games were excusable, okay. But they lost on their home court once and could have easily lost 2 more, including losing a 21 point lead. That's inexcusable.

Re: Golden State Warriors advance He's also injured, and I'm sure the Warriors are holding their collective breath that he's healthy enough to contribute in the next round. We may debate a lot of things about Golden State's victory over Dallas, but one thing's for certain -- they're wouldn't have been able to do it without him, nor will they last much longer in the playoffs if he's out.
