Georgia Tech QB Reggie Ball, one of the guys on the short list of preseason Heisman candidates, is probably the hardest to get a good read on. That's because he's a boon or bust kind of player. As Street & Smiths puts it, Ball "can make breathtaking plays and mystifying decisions in the same series." He has thrown for over 6,300 career yards and 37 touchdowns, but he also has 41 career interceptions. So, basically, he needs to become more consistant and cut down on the errors to be a true Heisman hopeful. Can Ball do that?

I don't think Ball has a very good shot at the heisman. Unless GT has a very good year this year, I seriously doubt he is one of the finalists, and even if they are good, i doubt he will win.
