Georgia Tech QB Taylor Bennett

Keep an eye on Georgia Tech QB Taylor Bennett, says Rivals.com.

According to a recent article written by Rivals.com's Steve Megargee, "Bennett made his first career start in last year's Gator Bowl and responded by throwing for 326 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-35 loss to West Virginia. That effort raised hopes among the Georgia Tech faithful that the Yellow Jackets could have an upgrade at the quarterback position. Bennett replaces four-year starter Reggie Ball, who completed less than half his career pass attempts. Bennett undoubtedly will prove more accurate than Ball, but he lacks Ball's running ability and experience. Bennett also must prove he can succeed without All-America receiver Calvin Johnson, who closed his Georgia Tech career by catching two of Bennett's Gator Bowl touchdown passes."

What kind of season do you expect out of Bennett in 2007? Can he be a better QB than Ball?

See, you got to like a kid who's first start is before a major, major game like that, and he did so well. Though, yeah, having CJ on your team has to help tremendously.

The kid played well, though, CJ or no CJ. Watching him made me wonder why the wasted all that time with Ball in the first place.
