Stafford and Moreno are leaving UGA for the riches of the NFL. As a rabid UGA fan I wish them well and thank them for some great memories.

They are both very gifted players but we will survive and possibly flourish as the cupboard is full of QB and RB talent.

I'm excited and looking forward to Joe Cox and/or Logan Grey showing their stuff.

I'd guess Stafford will go in the first 5 picks and Moreno in the top 20.

Not a surprise, but a bit of a shame. I would've loved to see them in the college game another year.

Me too lefty. UGA will likely have the best OL they have ever had and those two guys would have been lights out. The OL play for the past couple of years has been adequate at best due to an unbelievable number of injuries.

The team may actually be better because they won't sit back and wait for one of the big two to make a play. Joe Cox is a fiery competitor but doesn't have the arm Stafford has but he was a top 3 QB coming out of H.S. with a 31 - 0 record Carolina player of the year. UGA also has four top 5 RB's and one or possibly two of them could fill Moreno's shoes.

ESPN seems to be saying that Stafford may be the top QB to go, and a sure top five pick. You think?

Yup - the kid can make all the throws which has hurt him some as he made some poor decisions occasionally by thinking he could gun one through the eye of the needle. I doubt we have ever seen a college QB with his arm strength - it is amazing.

He made the right decision imho as did Moreno.

Yeah, I would have liked to see them in college for another year but not for the same reasons guys.

Its the grandmother in me JRL. I just cant help it.
Go to school and finish your education.
Of course these days they can do it by computer. Many go back during the summer or after the NFL.
And I always have this idea that one more year experience in the college program isnt going to hurt when they go into the NFL. A little more experience and a little more maturity.

Looks like Stafford and Moreno aren't the only ones headed for the pros. Asher Allen is also leaving and now Reshad Jones is thinking about it...

As for Stafford, do you think Sam Bradford's decision yesterday to stay at OU helped his pick in the draft, since they were both projected as the first two quarterbacks selected?

I think the comments by Richt when Stafford and Moreno opted out sent a message to a few others. Paraphrasing he basically said if your heart is not in it then by all means move on.
