New Orleans — SEC Commissioner Mike Slive chose his words very carefully.
He was here Tuesday morning to present the BCS championship trophy to LSU coach Les Miles, whose team won the title Monday night with a 38-24 win over No. 1 Ohio State.

"I was disappointed with the timing — the fact that this story would break today," Slive said. "This is LSU's day. This is a great day for the SEC. Hopefully when we're done talking (about this) we can focus on LSU and the players on that team and what the SEC has accomplished."
