Re: Bulldogs Future's so bright...

Sophomore quarterback Matthew Stafford said his team -- which completed the regular season ranked fourth in the major polls and fifth in the Bowl Championship Series rankings -- deserves a top-five preseason ranking at minimum for the upcoming season.
"I haven't looked at all the stuff for other people, but (we should be) top five, top three and I think realistically looked upon as a national championship-caliber team," Stafford said. "We're not gonna be afraid to say it.

A bit early to get a bulleyes painted on your back ain't it?

Probably not since the preseason rankings are based more on political conjecture and media hype than in-depth analysis.

It is never to early to try and overcome the media darlings – Ohio St., Michigan, Penn St., Michigan St., USC, Notre Dame (just wait and see N.D.’s early ranking ), Florida, Oklahoma, Texas and newly anointed LSU.

Look at the final polls this year (pre bowl games) - two teams jumped UGA based mostly on politics.
