
Aug. 30: Georgia Southern (7-4) - Under first-year coach Chris Hatcher, the I-AA Eagles improved by four wins from their 3-8 season of 2006. The teams will meet for the fourth time ever and first since 2004.

Sept. 6: Central Michigan (8-6) - The Mid-American Conference champions were crushed by Clemson 70-14 and outscored by Purdue in a 51-48 Motor City Bowl shootout. Defensive coordinator Willie Martinez and linebackers coach John Jancek coached at the school prior to joining Georgia.

Sept. 13: at South Carolina (6-6) - Georgia will try to find the end zone against a team that kept the Bulldogs without a touchdown and dealt them a costly early-season loss in 2007. Brian VanGorder, the former Bulldogs defensive coordinator, will run Steve Spurrier's defense. The Gamecocks limped to the finish with a five-game losing streak and were shut out of the bowls.
