| Bulldogs guard against history repeating itself By Marc Weiszer | marc.weiszer@onlineathens.com | Story updated at 11:07 PM on Monday, October 8, 2007 A disastrous and deflating defeat to Tennessee took the air out of Georgia's season a year ago. It began a downward spiral in which the Bulldogs lost four out of five games. The danger for the No. 24 Bulldogs is they could fall into a similar trap Saturday at Vanderbilt in a 6 p.m. ESPN2 game in which the loser will become the first three-loss team in the SEC East. Georgia (4-2, 2-2 SEC) is coming off a 35-14 loss to the Volunteers that matched the worst loss in coach Mark Richt's seven seasons. | Re: Bulldogs guard against history repeating itself In general, most teams come back from a whipping all fired up, very intense, and hungry to prove they aren't as bad as their last game's loss. I'm still not really sure just what kind of personality this team has - are they quitters or are they fighters? Sometimes they look like both. If I had to bet though I believe they'll whip the stuffing out of Vandy on Saturday. |
