| RB Thomas commits to Georgia By CARTER STRICKLAND The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Published on: 09/30/07 Carlton Thomas got an up-close view of the Georgia run game Saturday in Athens. Sunday, the high school running back decided he might want to be a part of it. Georgia, according to Scout.com. Thomas is the Bulldogs' 20th commitment. He is the second running back to commit to Georgia. Richard Samuel of Cass High committed in January. Samuel and Thomas are two different style running backs. The 5-foot-7 Thomas is shiftier and more elusive. Samuel, who is five inches taller, has the bulk to be a more straight-ahead, between-the-tackles type of runner. Samuel is the higher rated back. But Thomas had plenty of interest from several schools such as Clemson, Notre Dame and West Virginia. Thomas is the third player Georgia has grabbed from the state of Florida this recruiting year after none last year. ajc.com
