| Henderson's grab will linger for years to come By Roger Clarkson | Staff Writer | Story updated at 12:18 AM on Saturday, September 29, 2007 In about the time it takes for a NASCAR pitstop, Mikey Henderson and Matthew Stafford wrote their passage into Georgia Bulldog folklore. Stafford's pass, Henderson's catch, Chester Adams' frog splash and the mother of all dog piles in the end zone of Alabama's Bryant-Denny Stadium combined all the necessary ingredients of a historic moment. "I was really surprised when I saw that ball in the air," said former Georgia quarterback Kirby Moore, who started the infamous flea flicker play that beat Alabama in 1965. "I thought, 'Oh, no. We need to be running the ball right down their throats.' But then Stafford made a great pass and Henderson caught it and I was jumping up and down. My hat's off to them. That was probably the best pass Stafford has thrown since he's been here. It was a great play, and it's going to rank right up there with some of the great plays in Georgia history." | Re: Henderson's grab will linger for years to come A friend of mine lives in Cols Ga and he said that on one of the radio stations there they constantly run that call from Howard at the end (they run it as like an advertisement he said). he says he never gets tired of hearing Howard scream "TD" (where he loses his voice) and then yells "one and done baby!" |
