| Stafford still finding comfort zone A few days after an impressive season-opening performance against Oklahoma State, Georgia sophomore Matthew Stafford described the mindset he brings to the quarterback position. "I want to hit every pass and hit them right in stride every time," he said. Stafford came close to that in Georgia's first game when he completed 18 of 24 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns, but his accuracy was off as South Carolina stepped up the defensive pressure last Saturday and his receivers' hands weren't as reliable. Stafford completed just 19 of 44 passes for 213 yards and an interception in the 16-12 loss. adsonar_placementId=1277854;adsonar_pid=318758;ads onar_ps=-1;adsonar_zw=300;adsonar_zh=180;adsonar_jv='ads.ad sonar.com'; "He played so much last year, and he played so well in the first game that you're thinking he's a veteran and he's going to play lights out from here on in," coach Mark Richt said. "That's what you kind of hope. He's still getting comfortable in some ways, and I think he just had an off day with his accuracy, but that was just one of our issues." Stafford, who will make his 11th start at Georgia Saturday against Western Carolina, chalked up his showing against the Gameoccks to "just a bad night."
