| Another signature win for Stafford ATHENS - Georgia's beatdown of Auburn last year may be quarterback Matthew Stafford's signature victory as a Bulldog, but it no longer ranks as the tops in terms of the sophomore's individual performance. Coach Mark Richt put Stafford's showing in last Saturday's 35-14 win against Oklahoma State as No. 1 and Stafford agreed. "I thought that was the best game of his career last game," Richt said Tuesday. Stafford completed 18 of 24 passes for 234 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions against an unranked Cowboys team. In the 37-15 rout of then-No. 5 Auburn, Stafford completed 14 of 20 passes for 219 yards and a touchdown and rushed for another 83 yards. "The Auburn game was a good game, but it just seemed like everything went right," Richt said. "I didn't think he had to make a lot of decisions in that game on whether to throw it away or take a sack. Most of the time when he dropped back somebody was open and he threw it to him. "A lot of the running was QB runs designed. We were kind of helping him along a lot more in that game than this game." This spring, Richt called Stafford the most talented quarterback he's ever coached and repeated that praise Tuesday. Stafford has a pass efficiency rating of 184.4 in the first week, which ranks 14th in the nation. "I didn't turn the ball over and never really had a chance, never really threw one up for grabs" said Stafford, who threw 13 interceptions as a freshman. Another signature win for Stafford 09/05/07
