ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia Bulldogs (33-22) welcome the Furman Paladins (14-24-1) to Athens on Wednesday for a doubleheader scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. EDT. Georgia holds a 9-1 all-time record against Furman, including a doubleheader sweep in Athens last season.
The Bulldogs compiled a 2-3 mark last week after posting a doubleheader sweep over Mercer and dropping a three-game series at South Carolina.
Megan McAllister set a new Georgia record for career home runs (43) with a two-run blast in the sixth inning of game three on Sunday.
Furman dropped a three-game series to the College of Charleston last weekend.
Amber Kiser leads the Paladins with a .336 batting average.
Lane Mackey (7-10, 2.59 ERA) and Blake Murray (6-12, 3.09 ERA) have logged the majority of the innings in the circle for Furman in 2007.
Wednesday is Dollar Dog Night at the UGA Softball Complex. Hot dogs will be on sale for $1 during both games at the concession stand.
