Anybody follow the baseball team? Dawgs lost their opening 3 game stand to Oregon State. They won last night (Feb 21) against Mercer.

For this weekend (23-25 Feb) they open a 3 game home stand against Purdue.

This is a very young team and their bull pen leaves much to be desired. I certainly don't expect a national championship from them this year, don't expect even an SEC championship, but following them is a lot of fun imo. So Go Dawgs!!

Welcome aboard, garron. Big baseball fan here - not Georgia in particular, but I love the game. Not a lot of people here chatting UGA baseball, but hopefully that will change. How do you think they'll fare against the Boilermakers?

I didn't really think many would be interested in the baseball team. It doesn't have a huge fan base. But just wanted to add something to the Dawg discussion.

The dawgs were in all 3 of the games against oregon state. Their bullpen blew all 3 games. I mean blew it in a huge way.

Today's game is (per live stats) in the top of the 9th and UGA is leading 9 - 0. However I saw similar huge leads in the opening series and the bullpen collapsed so until the last pitch is thrown do I get comfortable.

On purdue...this is their first meeting in history of their schools. I don't think they have that great of a team and dawgs should take all 3.

Nope, looks like the 9-0 score held up. This kid Iain Sebastian tossed a 3-hit shutout, eh? Nice. The article I was reading also said it's been changed to a double-header today and no game on Sunday, due to the possibility of inclimate weather. There's a 2:30pm start for the twinbill.

Nathan Moreau was the starter and blanked them 7 innings. He gave up 1 hit in the 4th and 1 hit in the 7th. Sebastian finished the game and gave up 1 hit in the 9th. I think this is awesome pitching for 2 sophomore players.

True they are playing a double header today. Huge storms moving our way predicted for tomorrow (sunday). Basketball game today too so lots of sports on tap for us today wearing the Red and Black.

Dawgs got spanked in Game 2. Score was Purdue 5, UGA 0. Game was nasty. Starting pitcher went out after 1.2 innings.

Dawgs blanked them in Game 3. Score was UGA 2, Purdue 0
