If Ole Miss is the SEC's biggest disappointment, Georgia is only a step behind. These are gloomy days for the Bulldogs in wake of Saturday's 45-19 loss to Tennessee.
At 3-3, Georgia is off to its worst start in nine years under coach Mark Richt.
And though the Bulldogs are 11th in the SEC in total offense, the problems stretch beyond the departures of Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno. The defense also stands 11th in the SEC in yards allowed, and last in scoring defense.
No AP voter included Georgia on a Top 25 ballot. The pick to finish second in the SEC East to Florida, Georgia absorbed a blowout loss to a foundering Tennessee program.
The Bulldogs haven't won fewer than eight games under Richt, but he may be testing the goodwill he has established.
