Happy New Year to everyone here at GTG. I'll be working so hopefully I'll be rolling in it by about 4 in the morning.

Cool Re: Happy New Year 2009

To all:
A very prosperous, happy and safe New Year!!

We will be hanging at home, we always do. We will be dining good:
salad, baked potato, shrimp and steak!! We can do that since we save "all the money" by not going out!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!!

Re: Happy New Year 2009

Happy New Year from the great North East part of the country. Good wishes to all for a wonderful New Years evening and a fantastic 2009. We'll be spending the evening with family. Probably play a few card games, eat a bit (to much). I'll probably sneak away once or twice to see what is happening at GTG and also plan to do the webcam thing with a sibling in NC.

If I were the boss I wouldn't even see the New Year arrive. Gotta give in once in a while. Happy New Year to all.

2009

Re: Happy New Year 2009

Its been a long time since we celebrated New Year's Eve. Usually both of us are asleep our recliners long before the New Year arrives.
So this year I decided I would see it in. I made a pot of coffee and watched movies.
I'm so disappointed. The New Year came in just like the Old One.

Re: Happy New Year 2009

They're getting caught up in the "Ball dropping" thing down here in LA. (Lower Alabama)
This year Mobile dropped an electronic nine-foot Moon Pie at midnight and Pensacola dropped a seven-foot silver pelican.

New York drops the crystal ball, Raleigh drops a giant acorn, Key West drops a giant red FMP (high heel shoe) with a drag queen riding in it, and now Mobile drops a giant Moon Pie. Yahoo!!!

Words escape me.

"Better?" I dunno. Better is a relative term. One thing is for sure, I don't drink nearly as much these days (two scotches on the rock between 11:00 and midnight), so New year's Day dawned without a hangover. That's definitely "better."

But things sure are different. Cities "dropping" all sorts of things. There were seven reports of people being struck by falling bullets here in Mobile Co. (Midnight sounded eerily like the 1969 Tet offensive)

Yeah... I'd say "different."
