but see i said list what phone you use (cellphone). What a way to kill my topic LSC,anwayz i love electronics and the never ending human potential to create bigger and better things. The computer is becoming a "common" tool well is probably already a common tool but cellphones are becoming more like computers (like mine). I can se the web as it is, do everything a home computer can right from my cell. sheshh, i might even write one of my drfunk blogs next time I'm at the movies before the previews or something. |

| Re: What Cool Phone Do You Work Off Of? Believe it or not we have a cell phone too. Got it when I was working and keep it now so family and friends can reach me when I am playing on here. Dial up ties up the phone lines you know. Only use ours to talk on too, but I know what you mean drfunk. Its just amazing what they can do and more and more comes out everyday. I can remember a phone when I was a kid. It was a party line. Phones have come a long way. Technology is awesome but I am still amazed by the things a computer can do.

| Re: What Cool Phone Do You Work Off Of? I have a Motorola. Nothing fancy but it lets me talk when I want to and text when I don't want to talk, which is extremely often since I hate talking on a phone. I don't even have a house phone anymore. Bette I remember those party lines too.

Remember when people would listen in on your conversations or you couldnt get through because someone was on the line? Hmm They can listen in on your conversations now too. Guess not everything has changed. |

| Re: What Cool Phone Do You Work Off Of? My cell phone is black. I have no idea of the brand. I talk on it. Period. No pictures, no writing back and forth (texting?), no blackberrying (whatever that is). I'm looking at last month's bill and I have a total of six minutes of use. I'm not a big fan of the things. They have contributed greatly to the growing rudness of Americans. I guess they've become a necessary evil.

Americans aren't the only ones who use them and if you use them, does that make you evil as well and rude? |

No, cell phone, like guns, are NOT the problem. It's the people who use them and not everyone who uses a cell phone acts like a first class bore. It's just the borish ones who are the ones who stick out. |

I also admit the new technology has passed me by. But I realize that some, especially the young, have grown up with technology and to them, these new "whiz-bang" cell phone, camera, TV's, music boxes, stock tickers, phone books, and butt-wipers, are as "natural" as vodka and orange juice. Good for them. I applaud them. But, when these new devices become a distraction to me in my everyday life, or a menace on the road, then "the nut behind the wheel" of the device is the problem, not the device itself. The the user becomes a boil on the butt of humanity and earns my wrath. " Guess I'm not important enough." You above quote reminds me of when I was still in the Navy. Everyone but me wanted to have a pager, for instant contact when you were off duty. I had an officer question me once about my not wearing a "brick" (pager). "What if your people need you to make a decision during the night?" My answer was, " I"m just not that important. My people don't need me to make decisions. I train them and trust them to think for themselves." |

i didn't grow up with a cell phone to be 100% with you guys. I didn't get my first cell phone until I graduated from high school which was a gift from my parents (which happened to be crappy but i was thankfully still). My second phone was a Sidekick 2 (phone with a flip keyboard) then i got a Sidekick 3 and the phone I have now is the G1. I've never used a phone while driving because frankly, i can't it's too hard for me. I can multi-task in other areas and aspects but while driving? It demands my full attention and I hate to see people on their cells while driving because yeah it is dangerous. I could care less when I see people on the cell phone anywhere else though, so what? they're having conversations but I understand that if there is a family out there and everybody is on the cells I can understand that it looks retarded but that's just them. They're being stupid when they should be out as a "family". |
