In case you didn't see the news clip, we've replaced the Late Model with a Modified and are thrashing trying to make the first practice session of the season next Saturday. Still have a dozen or so little things that need finishing, but we're mostly ready to head to the track next weekend for "testing"...
I started fabricating the grill screen this afternoon. Just as my son got ready to fire the engine for the first time he discovered water leaking out of the intake manifold at the head. That'll slow us down a little, but we're pretty sure it has to do with the fact the manifold is brand new and the gasket just didn't seal as well as it would have with a used manifold. We were lucky that none of the water got down in the oil pan. We'll fire it up tomorrow after getting some new gaskets and some silicone.
Hopefully I'll have some pix of the Modified to post on the website in the next week or so.
