Re: 2009 Formula 1 Predictions Contest Championship Points Standings

I apologize for the latness of my updating the standings. I've been occupied with finalizing our next cruise in May.

Standings after Suzuka:

1. 14 pts: WestCoast
2. 13 pts: Bob Tanner
3. 12 pts Racer Duck
4. 11 pts: disco stu
5. 8 pts: DOF_power
6. 3 pts: onearmsteve

Duck broke the 3rd place tie. Going into the final race it remains too close to call.

Would you believe that was just a test to see if anyone cared? I didn't think so. Sorry.

Re: 2009 Formula 1 Predictions Contest Championship Points Standings

Thanks Bob, it sure was a "unusual" year and not as predictable as years past, I guess the predictable results have shifted to Nascar for now.

The nice part of all this is that anytime I have any type of difference of opinion with anyone pertaining to Open Wheel racing, I can just be silent and point to my signature.

Many congratulations to WestCoast.

And to Bob and RD for making the podium (I had harboured a hope of spraying some champagne myself, but there's always next year).

Also, thanks to Bob for running it and updating it.

Thanks, my friend. I look at it as a labour of love.

Re: 2009 Formula 1 Predictions Contest Championship Points Standings

my thanks to Bob for taking the F1 forum off my hands and doing a very capable job of moderating it and, especially, running the predictions contest. As such it seems only fitting that he should receive a podium spot for his efforts, but he actually earned it by being the 2nd best predictor in F1 this year!

My congrats to WestCoast and Bob Tanner .. you are worthy competitors. I enjoyed competing against you and all the others who chose to make a prediction (or two.) Hopefully, next year, those who sat by and watched will choose to join in.

Now a parting question: who will be driving for Braun in 2010 and/or where will Button end up???

Brawn will pick up Rosberg and Button will be Hamilton's team mate at McClaren. Not too original but it kinda makes sense to me.

Re: 2009 Formula 1 Predictions Contest Championship Points Standings

My own view (as of now) is that Brawn will end up with Button and Rosberg.

I think Hamilton and Raikonen looks likely at McLaren (particularly as it seems that Toyota plan on pulling out now).

I would prefer to see the two "R"s at Brawn and H & B at McLaren. I don't think it's very likely now though.

Btw, the kid Nico Hulkenburg who's joining Rubens at Williams is one to watch out for in the future I think.
