The NFL Coaches Association is unhappy with the way the league has handled pensions, 401k, and the current supplemental retirement plan , making it non mandatory for clubs.
The decision was made with absolutely no warning and the association was kept out of the loop.
This change resulted in the retirement of coaches Tom Moore and Howard Mudd of the Indianapolis Colts. If they had not retired, they would have lost some of their benefits.
There has been renewed talk of a coaches union. In the past, the NFL has threatened to fire coaches who joined an union.

Wow! Coaches got the short end of the stick in this one. Stupid move on the owners part without giving the coaches at least a notice. Most certainly disrespectful of them.
