Re: Thoughts on Brett Favre

He had to say he was retiring this year so that the Jets would release him. This was his plan all along - he's wanted to be a Viking since leaving the Pack - and GB surely wasn't going to accommodate to those wishes. Even if he would have had a great year with the Jets (it was looking good until the shoulder injury), he would have pulled the same move. He knew what he wanted and knew how to get it - power to him. He now has some great weapons in his arsenal to make one last run for another Superbowl - not to mention the chance to stick it to the Packers.

You know, I read something about that. Going to the Jets and even throwing the games perhaps? I dont believe that part. Unless something is really screwy in his head. He is just too much into winning, too competitive.

It's a smart move for Bret, as I mean, he'll be a little more protected than he was on the Jets, but screwing the Jets (if that story is true) really makes me lose respect for someone who I did support. Does anyone know the status of Brett's shoulder though? Like, it's obviously good enough for the 'Vikes. but how brittle do you think it'll be when he does play a regular season game?

I dont believe the story is true and I think it was just someone trying to start something, so dont base your feelings for Brett based on that. I havent read much about the status of his shoulder. I dont think we really will know until he starts to play.
But you make a good point. We are still talking about a 40 year old quarterback. Will it hold up?
