someone PLEASE tell me what was so great about John Madden???
IMHO..he was the biggest ☻☻☻☻ in NFL broadcasting.
He was semi- decent with Pat Summeral but Pat carried him.
I'm sure Al Michaels is very happy to get that monkey off his back

I'd rather have him than Collinsworth, plus Madden is more famous for the game, the announcer gig was an added bonus, lol. But he will be missed

Very good explanation I think. He runs, he goes faster. How much clearer can it be?
He had quite a few of those slip ups but I think he was a bit better last year. I suspect either medication or something in his brain not quite connecting. There was still a lot of football knowledge up in that head. He just didnt always express it right. I sympathize with him because sometimes I cant get it out right either. Its part of getting older.
I think he and Al were probably pretty good friends.
Just be grateful its not Emmit Smith doing it!
