Re: Culpepper: Overrated Boob

Can't defend a guy that's not good enough to start. Joey will be much better in the long run, and at this point he even looks more mobile. Why more teams weren't interested in him is beyond me. Great college player who was only given a chance in Detriot. NO good qb's come from Detroit, no good football comes from Detroit. Drew Breeze would have been the smart choice but atleast Miami had a good backup plan. Now they just have to crawl out of the Pile of "Daunte" they fell in at the begining of the year.

Love that hindsight you guys seem to have...Daunte had question marks because of the injury, so there was risk..but he also has a high upside...so he was worth the chance...I like him still...I am also a Brees fan...the knack on him as always been the height...which is crock he is a good QB...

Joey was as much a risk as Daunte...but one worth taking...

But Miami has problems and its not just a Daunte thing...they are like the Cowboys with Drew Bledsoe...good QB...but getting sack a lot, and making bad decisons...yet Simon would not dream of throwing Drew Bledsoe under the bus like he does Daunte...New England bias that he has...

I'm not in any way taking sides in your little love spat boys, infact as a dolphin fan I hate New England (first for having the ugliest uniforms in the world back in the day, and then for ALWAYS beating the phins in the "big games").

The Pats are the "spurs" of the NFL, consistent, and great at times, but NEVER, NEVER exciting to watch.

PATS QB= NO PERSONALITY
PATS COACH= NO PERSONALITY .... PATS FANS....

Re: Culpepper: Overrated Boob

I think Daunte Culpepper has to be given a bit of slack. He is learning a new offense and is coming back from a devestating knee injury. It looks like he's playing sometimes a bit too safe and is afraid of that knee but that will pass. Yknow it doesnt help that the guy is the most sacked QB in the NFL either so all i'm saying it's not all Daunte's fault. The Dolphins as team are an overall disappointment in '06.

he is a pro and i dont think one system is all that different from another

the Steelers went 15-1 in Big Ben's rookie season and he started all but 4 games

you cant get anymore "learning a new system" then for a rookie QB

not so sure i buy the injury excuse either, Palmer is having a better season then Daunte and didnt they have similar injuries ?

Yeah, but Roethisberger threw the ball like 7 times a game in his rookie season and they won each time with run and defense. New systems are very different depending on the system. Im not sure Culpepper is suited for the Bill Walsh West Coast system so he needs time to learn. He's more of a vertical passer.

The only reason you don't cut him slack is cause he never wore the white, red, and blue of New Engalnd....you go through massive lengths to extend the benefit of the doubt to Drew Bledsoe in Dallas who is getting sacked as much, and making poor 4th quarter decision...but hey, he is Drew, the former Patriot star so...so we cut him a break, we look the other way...right?...right?

The thing is most of the sacks HAVE been his fault.

Joey will not give this position up. I don't think there is much difference as far as talent is concerned, I just think he'll play within the system and make smarter choices than what we've seen so far from Daunte.

Yelling at your coach wont get you back on the field either, but keep it up Daunte.

As a Phin fan I remember the run they went on at the end of 05, not saying that will happen, but Joey gives the team a much better shot.

Too bad Daunte can't play in real life like he can on this years Madden

Hate to say it...but true...he is hanging on to the ball to long...taking too much time to make the proper reads...and he can't run like before.

Re: Culpepper: Overrated Boob

The 'Phins payed Culpepper a fortune so he can spit in Saban's face and still be the starter I think. Harrington is just another Heath Shuler, Akili Smith, Ryan Leaf type QB. A great first round bust. He couldnt turn around a coffee cup trust me. No matter what Culpepper is the best QB on the Dolphins although Freotte ironically was better than Daunte and Harrington!

Look at the stats...Joey is head and shoulders over Shuler, Leaf, and Smith...he is not that big a bust...

.....Freotte better...........

........couldn't turn around a coffee cup........ PUT THE BOTTLE DOWN.

As for your comment about "trust Me" when it comes to knowing Joey, Please, let us all in on your inside info, otherwise "trust me" is not a good arguement.

I went to ALL of Joeys home games in Oregon and "trust me" he will do what the coaches ask him too, wont ever go "T.O." on the team, and wont make the retarded choices Daunte does and always will.(although personally I think he's DONE in the NFL)

Good luck in Canada Daunte

Re: Culpepper: Overrated Boob

Daunte Culpepper will reunite with Ricky Williams in the CFL.

When I say re-unite, I mean the wasted selections of them on the Pro-Bowl team!
